EasyJet Expands Flight Routes to Lapland
EasyJet is significantly boosting its presence in Finnish Lapland for the upcoming winter season, establishing itself as the airline with the most routes to the region. The low-cost carrier has announced a total of eight new flight connections to two key Lapland destinations: Rovaniemi and Kittilä.
In Rovaniemi, the unofficial home of Santa Claus, EasyJet is launching six new routes. Travelers will be able to fly directly to Rovaniemi from Birmingham, Berlin, Bordeaux, Geneva, Lyon, and Nice. These new connections are expected to further accelerate the growth of winter tourism in the area.
Meanwhile, Kittilä Airport will welcome two new EasyJet routes. Starting in November, the airline will operate direct flights from Paris and Milan to Kittilä. Both routes will run twice weekly throughout the winter season.
With these additions, EasyJet claims it will offer more routes to Lapland than any other airline, boasting a total of seventeen flights from seven different countries. This expansion underscores the increasing popularity of Lapland as a winter destination and EasyJet's strategy to capitalize on this growing market.
The new routes are set to enhance accessibility to Finnish Lapland's winter attractions, potentially bringing more international tourists to experience the region's unique offerings, from Northern Lights viewing to reindeer sledding and Santa Claus Village visits.
